Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children

The Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children (SBCWC ) is a one-stop centre for women and children who are survivors of abuse. The centre provides a number of services to women and their children who experience domestic and/or sexual violence; which include a 24-hour emergency shelter (safe accommodation), short and medium term residential care, childcare services, counselling, mental health support, legal and economic empowerment services, research in gender-based violence, job Skills training, and legal advice.

Rape Crisis Cape Town

Rape Crisis offers face-to-face counselling by experienced counsellors at three centers in Cape Town (Athlone, Observatory and Khayelitsha). We also provide counselling for family members, partners, spouses or friends of a survivor of rape. Rape Crisis offers a 24-hour crisis line and speak to survivors in English, Afrikaans or Xhosa over the telephone.
