#IAmMother - Stories of Motherhood

Listen to her story

Hello everyone, my name is Nomfundo Msomi and the advice I would like to give women and mothers in South Africa is that we spend so much time regretting, crying, resenting the journey of being mothers due to our circumstances that we face but we forget that we are powerful beings.

God trusted us and He gave us this power that we are not realizing. So I want every woman out there to realize their power, to realize that being a woman is empowerment.

You don’t even need to be empowered, so realize that power and let it out and remember that you don’t have to be perfect. It does not matter how many times you fall; what matters is how many times you stand. Thank you.

Ashleigh Wegener

Photography, to me, is an art form that aptly depicts a moment in a person’s life to characterize and immortalize a glimpse into the essence of that beautiful individual or moment. As a South African we seem to have developed a strength, a drive and I have the honour and privilege of being able to use my camera as a tool to help tell the story, to evoke memory, and emotion, to teach that we are stronger than we think, to remind women of their unique beauty and ever enduring strength.
You are woman, let them hear your Roar!
