I am the co-founder and CEO of the 1000 Days of Grace Foundation, an NGO dedicated to transforming maternal and child health during the first 1000 days of life.
My work focuses on empowering mothers through breastfeeding support, maternal wellness education, and integrated care. Over the past two and a half years, I have led the establishment of a hospital-based lactation support programme at Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital in Johannesburg, developed training frameworks for healthcare professionals, and built partnerships to expand maternal-infant wellness services. I also serve as a doula and lactation specialist, advocating for evidence-based and holistic support for mothers.
Being a Mamandla Fellow is extremely exciting for me. It represents a space of growth, sisterhood and collaboration. It’s an opportunity to strengthen my leadership while amplifying the voices of mothers. Through this fellowship, I hope to expand our impact so every mother and child can thrive.
