Noeleen Abrahams

I am a healthcare facilitator who runs weekly programmes and workshops on antenatal and postnatal care, with a particular focus on the first 1,000 days. I lead a special programme for teenagers and young mothers aimed at education and the prevention of teen pregnancy. My work extends to schools and communities, where I support vulnerable and underprivileged families.

I collaborate closely with health clinics and MOU to organise community events and outreach programmes. I also engage with various organisations and donors to secure funding and donations, mobilising resources to assist women and families from difficult or unstable backgrounds, many of whom are unemployed. Our initiatives focus on empowerment and life skills training, helping participants create sustainable sources of income. We also ensure that our programmes provide a safe, nurturing space, often with a warm meal for those who attend. I work across the greater Athlone district, including Mitchells Plain, Manenberg, Hout Bay, Delft and Philippi.
