Nkele Talifhani Galedzana is a bold, visionary leader from Alexandra Township who has spent her life rewriting the narrative for young people growing up in environments plagued by poverty, addiction, and generational hardship. Through Famship, a movement that supports mothers who have experienced trauma and helps them rekindle relationships with their children, especially those who are substance users.
Nkele has assisted young people struggling with drug and alcohol addiction access rehabilitation assistance after engagements in Famship. Being a Mamandla fellow means the journey continues through creating networks and growing from others who are mother supporters in order to keep the work of mother support going in my community.
