I’m Tlotlisang Amanda Mokoena. I was born in Soweto, South Africa.
I am a teacher, mother and maternal health activist and founder of Glow Movement NPO. Glow was born as an initiative by a group of young women, who realise the significance of girl and women groups in social development. We focus on child nutrition and maternal health problems affecting women in disadvantaged communities, specifically maternal mental health.
Being a Mamandla fellow means to be a leader in enhancing positive change for mothers through Information, advocacy and service provision and to ensure that mothers positively impact their communities. The Mamandla fellowship opened many networking opportunities for me and my organisation and empowered me in so many ways. I’m grateful for the love and support received from my Mamandla fellow sisters.
