Christie is a medical doctor with a special interest in HIV/Aids research. She is currently taking some time to be home with her young children. She says that, “having a support group and a close group of friends with whom to share the daily challenges of motherhood has ignited my passion for motherhood and made me realize that so many women navigate through their journeys without such a support system”. Christie has a vision of supported and empowered motherhood for all mothers in South Africa that includes access to health care and particularly mental health care services and resources, safe childcare options and support for feeding choices.
