Evashnee Naidoo

I am an Independent Midwife and have been a midwife for the past 16 years.

Working in the public sector for most of my career, I made every effort to offer women in public hospital respectful care that aimed empower them to have individualised and self influenced birth choices, buying a birth stool for women to explore alternative birthing positions is one of the many things I did to improve birth experience in a public Hospital.

Broadening my skills and knowledge base I completed various courses such as the Certified Sensitive Midwifery course in order to support women to have a positive and empowering pregnancy and birth experience with minimal medicalisation. Being passionate about birth education I developed antenatal classes that encourage women to understand pregnancy, birth and parenthood as a unique and natural/ physiological life event that is spiritual, emotional and physical.

In 2023, propelled I exited my employment in the public sector to pursue my career as an independent Midwife, supporting women and families who opted for safe and holistic midwifery and women centred care including Home Birth if they chose.
