My name is Thandekile Khumalo I’m the founder and principal at Para’demics Edu Centre, an ECD, preschool and skills development centre for children living with disabilities, in low income communities and various townships.
Through my work I’m involved in the early stages of children with disabilities access to reputable education environments and medical services through working with our local clinics as well different stakeholders to ensure the wellbeing of their parents, caregivers (mothers) are well taken care of mentally, physically and emotionally.
Being a Mamandla fellow means that my role in society has just become bigger, the promised growth of the fellowship will enable me to lead with caution, create lasting environments for mother’s to fully embrace their Mothership role despite the difficulties of raising a special needs child.
