Nwabisa Mzamo

Nwabisa Mzamo is a married woman with three children. She was born and bred in Cape Town. She studied Bachelor of Social Work at the University of the Western Cape and graduated in 2017.

She has worked at The Trauma Centre as a social worker. She served in communities such as Bonteheuwel, Delft, Manenberg and Kraaifontein. She provided therapeutic intervention on a micro, mezzo, and macro level to victims of violence and trauma. She has worked with the Human Sciences Research Council conducting research on the experiences of teenage mothers and established support groups for teen mothers in Khayelitsha. She has also worked at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, providing supportive services to mothers.

She is currently working for the Department of Social Development where she provides early intervention, family support and aftercare service to clients who abuse substance and their families.
