I am a writer- performer situated in Cape Town, South Africa. My praxis uses poetry, song, physical theatre, storytelling and ritual to navigate ancestral trauma, confront inequality and inspire healing. Recent highlights include having my short story, ‘Binnegoed’ selected as the overall winner of Ibua Journal’s  2022 ‘Bold: Food’ regional. Another milestone includes having my short story ‘The Serpent’s Handmaiden’ shortlisted for the Share Africa Climate Change Fiction Award.

My work has appeared in The Kalahari Review, Herri, Ibua Journal, Ake Review, Pepper Coast Lit, The Culture Review, Short.Sharp.Stories, Aerodrome and elsewhere.

The fellowship is a fertile environment to further my passion for using creative writing to assist victims of GBV to find healing justice.
